Lizzie Shuttleworth developed her natural talent at Cape Town University where she read fine art and later at the Byam Shaw in London. Experimenting with acrylics, ink and oils, her early preference for interpretation of industrial landscapes was gradually transformed by her love of animals, and horses in particular.
She is currently absorbed with the possibilities of palette knife and oil which she sees as an exciting medium for transmitting the strength and movement of a horse under tension to the two dimensional constraint of canvas. Her paintings in this medium illustrate the fever of a race in an entirely original style.

After a number of exhibitions and individual commissions she has widened her repertoire to include portraits of dogs.
She will accept commissions which start from £250 for pastels and from £1000 for oils.
